Sopot

Two railroads run through the city district of Sopot: Belgrade – Niš and Belgrade – Mala Krsna. Due to its distance from the center of Belgrade, the district of Sopot is an area with preserved natural resources and favorable climate. Mt. Kosmaj (626 m), Trešnja, Guberevac Forest, excursion site Babe andTresije Monastery are extraordinary places for weekend trips and relaxation in a preserved natural environment with favorable winds.

Since 1972, in the beginning of every July, Sopot hosts the oldest film festival in the country, Sofest, which has been declared a festival of cultural importance to the City of Belgrade and is one of the most significant film parades in Serbia.
