Textarea
Since its creation in 1965, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade has been presenting the most important artists, periods, movements and tendencies in the Yugoslav, Serbian and foreign art of the 20th century. Its prominent position on the European and global map of modern and contemporary art opened the possibilities of active international exchange and cooperation with relevant foreign museums, galleries, collections, curators and critics. The museum is also engaged in the presentation and promotion of Serbian art abroad, and has often been in the position to enable the participation of local artists at international biennials and triennials (Venice, Sao Paolo, Paris etc.). It is situated near one of the city’s most beautiful promenades, at the Confluence, on the Sava riverbank directly facing the Kalemegdan Fortress.
