Description
Created in 1963, this is the cinema with the longest tradition. The Center’s film program is based on good movies, with emphasis on artistic features and authenticity, and also premieres, international festivals, thematic cycles, lectures, workshops, conversations with authors and film experts, both from the country and from abroad, media conferences, informative and visual materials. In 2016, the Film Gallery was opened in the lobby of the theater – an exhibition space dedicated to film and the study of the connections between modern cinema and visual arts. The Authors’ Film Festival was also established in the Movie Theater of the Cultural Center of Belgrade. Today, this institution is the host and co-organizer of the most important film festivals in the country: FEST, Free Zone, Beldocs, FAF etc. as well as the initiator and organizer of festivals with specially devised concepts, such as the Spanish Meter, Goethe FEST, Finnish Film Week, Days of Contemporary Danish Cinema…
